Briefcases

Setting up business requires the right tools and accessories. That includes your briefcase or bag. A typical brief case is a rather narrow rectangular bag or case large enough to fit standard documents. Briefcases derive their name from lawyers who often used these cases to carry their briefs to court.

Leather briefcases are commonly used by professionals in a number of fields to carry important documents and laptop computers. They are very fashionable and compliment most exotic leather footwear, both men and women.

The design for modern leather briefcases is descended from satchels used as early at the fourteenth century to carry valuables. In the early 1800`s a hinged metal frame was attached to a carpetbag to add structure to the bag. Eventually these designs evolved into modern stiff framed briefcases.

Briefcases come in different styles to suit different circumstances. A portfolio is designed to be carried in the hand or under the arm, so it has no handle. A folio case is essentially a portfolio that includes a retractable handle. The classic attache case is a structured briefcase with a hinged frame which opens into two sections.
